We consider semilinear Dirichlet problems with an unbounded and indefinite potential and with a Carathéodory reaction. We assume that asymptotically at infinity the problem exhibits double resonance. Using variational methods, together with Morse theory and flow invariance arguments, we prove multiplicity theorems producing three, five, six or seven nontrivial smooth solutions. We prove existence and multiplicity theorems when resonance occurs with respect to the principal eigenvalue both from the left and from the right. In this paper, we consider the following fractional Schrödinger‐Poisson system where 0 < t ≤ α < 1, , and 4α+2t ≥3 and the functions V(x), K(x) and f(x) have finite limits as |x|→∞. By imposing some suitable conditions on the decay rate of the functions, we prove that the above system has two nontrivial solutions. One of them is positive and the other one is sign‐changing. We formulate a modified nodal cubic spline collocation scheme for the solution of the biharmonic Dirichlet problem on the
unit square. We prove existence and uniqueness of a solution of the scheme and show how the scheme can be solved on an N × N uniform partition of the square at a cost O(N

2) using fast Fourier transforms and m iterations of the preconditioned conjugate gradient method. We demonstrate numerically that m proportional to log2
N guarantees the desired convergence rates. Numerical results indicate the fourth order accuracy of the approximations in the

nodes.

In this paper, nonlinear modeling for flexible multibody system with large deformation is investigated. Absolute nodal coordinates
are employed to describe the displacement, and variational motion equations of a flexible body are derived on the basis of
the geometric nonlinear theory, in which both the shear strain and the transverse normal strain are taken into account. By
separating the inner and the boundary nodal coordinates, the motion equations of a flexible multibody system are assembled.
The advantage of such formulation is that the constraint equations and the forward recursive equations become linear because
the absolute nodal coordinates are used. A spatial double pendulum connected to the ground with a spherical joint is simulated
to investigate the dynamic performance of flexible beams with large deformation. Finally, the resultant constant total energy
validates the present formulation.

A finite element model to solve the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations based on the stabilization with orthogonal subscales, a predictor–corrector scheme to segregate the pressure and a nodal based implementation is presented in this paper. The stabilization consists of adding a least‐squares form of the component orthogonal to the finite element space of the convective and pressure gradient terms, which allows to deal with convection‐dominated flows and to use equal velocity–pressure interpolation. The pressure segregation is inspired in fractional step schemes, although the converged solution corresponds to that of a monolithic time integration. Finally, the nodal‐based implementation is based on an a priori calculation of the integrals appearing in the formulation and then the construction of the matrix and right‐hand side vector of the final algebraic system to be solved. After appropriate approximations, this matrix and this vector can be constructed directly for each nodal point, without the need to loop over the elements and thus making the calculations much faster. Some issues related to this implementation for fractional step and our predictor–corrector scheme, which is the main contribution of this paper, are discussed.
